Coming Back To Reality - Clearing the Illusory World Created Through Thought

"A person who thinks all the time has nothing to think about except thoughts, so he loses touch with reality and lives in a world of illusions..."
Alan Watts

A computer is a platform for potential programs. All programs are contained within a computer. None can "escape" or be ran outside the realm of a computer-like setting, nor does it or can it come from the "outside" in. All is contained within the computer or the web that each creates. In the same way, "you" cannot "escape" from the world because you are the world. You do not come from the "outside" "in" for all is contained within the seed of the big bang. All that you see "out there" is coming in through "your" eyes and looking back at itself. The inner and outer realms of existences are not two separate objects but one united process. The inner creates the outer and the outer creates the inner. You are both, no... you are it, you are that.

Everything contained within this moment (all of existence) is you. This biological device is an aperture in which "all of that" looks back at itself and reflects upon itself creating an echo of the present moment, the past. This, of course, creates the feeling of time, all of which incurs through the mind and more specifically, language. "It" is sending feedback loops to itself through the "echo" of the present moment that you create through the ego. Nothing is wrong with this. In fact, it is pure brilliance. The only "problem", if you want to label it that, arises when you think that there is a problem need solving. Nothing is ever "wrong" right now in this very moment. The only thing "bad" (or even "good") that occurs now is done in the fictional personal symbolic narrative of yourself, of the "I".

Take a second and close your eyes. Relax... breathe deeply, listen to everything. Don't judge, just listen, just watch. If you catch yourself judging, do not judge the judgement for that would be a judgmental loop. Simply see that you are judging and nothing more, then "you" will no longer be judging. After a few minutes of this, ask yourself this:

Who am I?
Wait for the response..

The entirety of existence is experiencing itself, all right now, all through you. The "real you" never leaves and yet never stays. You are not some static thing that is pushed around by the world. You are not a victim needing revenge. How can you conquer the world if you are the world, the universe, the very essence of existence. That would be like trying to bite your own teeth, impossible and rather laughable. For that is what this is. This thing called life is not serious. It is play. Laugh about it, have fun with the act of you.
You are the world, the universe, all of existence through that existence, right now.
Language and conscious attention try to make sense of the world, by picking it apart, piece by piece, trying to fit it together as if it was an unsolved puzzle. However, to solve the puzzle is to not solve the puzzle because there is no puzzle to solve. There are no separate pieces needing assembled. The universe grows. Perhaps in the egoic mind structures like the economy but fundamentally reality is one united process that is all of 'you'. This process needs no solving because how could you solve you, especially when you is this moment right now and this moment, that moment is foreverly moving. Forever beyond the reach of your grasp. How can your right hand grab your right hand? You are in it, no, you are it.

The ego, conscious attention, is the feedback loop of existence. A sort of "feature" to it all. However, it is not all of existence. It is a part, but not all. Sometimes this part of existence, your story, you past, your future, your hopes, your worries, can begin to hypnotize you. The loop gets caught up in itself and loops around the loop, which creates for a very.. loopy perspective. It creates a fictional player whom reads hundreds of book all from the same book. A hesitation occurs. Calculations upon calculations are ran but nothing comes up and when the loop ends, a split-second, spontaneous decision is made, always. Computer scientists might refer to the this mental chatter as a recursive loop: A loop that never breaks and only the input values (thoughts) differ until a code is given to end it. Fortunately for you, you already know the code. You've had "the code" this entire time, thinking you have not. That right there is your problem. You try to "one up" the world, your mind, yourself, as if it is something outside of you working against you. You and the world, your environment, the universe work together. But there is no "together" in which two or more "things" come together. That would imply separation. In a universe that grows from within itself, like a seed into a tree, nothing can come from the outside in. All is contained within. All is All.  The "each" and "other"  that we experience is from the symbolic use of the world through language. A language that requires a subject. Who said there needed to be a subject? What if there was just "it" and "it" played itself?

When the loop begins to loop around itself, a feeling of disconnect and a world consisting of illusions occurs.  Egotistical behavior is a result so that one can try and prove to the world that they are there, that they are real, that there is something deep down inside of them (or maybe outside of them) that is the center of their self. I promise you this. You will never find that center because there is no center to find. So stop what you are trying to do and just listen. Do you hear it? Where does it all come from? Really listen now. Take a minute or two.. Close your eyes. Breathe.. Say "hello" in your head. Do it again and again, but slowly. Notice where it comes and goes. Do you hear it? It all comes from nothing and returns to nothing with an echo. All is nothing, you are nothing; and yet it is all everything.

Confronting Fear - Knowing the Unknown

You don't know anything.

And that's okay. As a collective global whole the human race knows almost nothing about how everything works (or more specifically why it works), we just know that it does and what repeats we call a fact. Things change, plates shift, houses break, people die.. you will die. We all know this, and yet we pretend we don't. What is needed is a confrontation with the unknown. Know the unknown. Play with it, laugh with it, be it.

"What blinds us, or what makes historical progress very difficult, is our lack of awareness of our ignorance."
 Terrence Mckenna

What is it that separates and duplicates everything on the cellular level, creating life as we know it? What makes particles "clump" together to create matter? What makes cells multiply and form together to then create you and other forms of life?  Why is it that particles, the building blocks of our universe, all have a magnetic charge to them? Why does the universe stay together? Why are we here? How do I will myself to do anything? Do "I" even do it? Who is the "I" that refers to the "I"? Why does everything  in the universe: planets, galaxies, trees, animals, rocks, everything, always come in multiple, why not just one?  What is consciousness? What is this? These are all fundamental questions unanswered. Can they even be answered? It's almost like the more we dig, the more wacky and complex everything gets like a foreverly complexifying kaleidoscope with no end (especially when you dive into the very nature of our reality, quantum mechanics). Terence Mckenna refers to the universe as a novelty producing engine. Humans have been leaving the world at higher and higher levels of complexity throughout the years. You too will do this throughout your experience here on Earth.  Mckenna theorizes that the universe will reach a point of no return and humans will "step out of the boundaries of matter". However, seeing as where are here right now, we might as will stay right here and not leap to any conclusions (which is of course all ideas, nothing concrete) and instead confront this unknown, your unknown, the unknown, and let the world spontaneously complexify in front us. Watch the art, watch the act.

I invite you to take a step back for a second from where you are now and look at everything's entire timeline, including your own. Notice how that tree outside started out as a seed. You started as a zygote. The universe (supposedly thus far) started as a quantum fluctuating crushed point smaller than the size of a head of a pin. What is everything doing? Starting at a singular point and then growing from within itselfComplexifying and multiplying in particular areas of the whole (a tree, you, a mountain, earth, planets, galaxies, stars, etc.) until it can no longer and then transfers that energy else where in its own unique way. It all goes back. The tree is already implied with the seed. In essence, the tree is the seed and the seed is the tree.

Before the big bang everything was crunched together into a very, very small "ball". Then BAM! The bang exploded and you, sitting here right now reading this, are a result of that. We tend to define ourselves as only that small little fragment of the entire process, and yet, billions of years of go you were a big bang. However, that bang is still in process. You are the big bang coming on as whoever you are, right now. You were implied, we were implied, all was implied in the seed of the big bang. You are the big bang, you are the universe, and the universe is you.

All of our lives we have been searching and searching for the truth in the external world. A "dead" truth that requires no further experience or searching. And yet, the only "truth" "out there" has been right here in front of you this whole time: Experience, your experience, right now. Truth keeps going and you are it. The moment, the now, is forever present and yet forever fleeting. It never leaves and yet never stays. It is gone before you can rationalize it, and once you do you are already referring to the past, not the present. Confront the unknown, know the unknown, and more importantly know yourself because you are that unknown. You are your fear and yet the two are not separate. Next time fear shows up in your life, stare into the very essence of it, fill yourself with it, embrace it. Don't think about it, just watch it. Thinking about or judging fear or anything else during the experience of fear, is fear. Fear is the running away from what is. Thinking is a way of distracting yourself from it, hiding yourself from who you truly really are. We don't want to know, really, at least not just yet. For now, it's a game of hide and seek. Watch how you pretend to be something that which you are not. Notice how in order to know who you are, you have to know that which you are not so by being that which you are not, you are being who you are. Next time fear comes up in your life, listen to it, follow it, be it. Feel it  and embrace it with every inch of your being. Watch it disappear, watch what happens, be what happens.

"When you see that you are a part of fear, not separate from it - that you are fear - then you cannot do anything about it; then fear comes totally to an end."

Russel Brand Calls For A Revolution On BBC And How We Can Start One

If you haven’t seen the video, check it out.

In the video we see Russel getting incredibly fired up about the problems that we face today. He points out how the current paradigms (narratives) that we collectively live within (a hierarchical government, corporations, banks, monetary system etc.) are not working. He calls for a revolution. He does not say how it will happen, but he knows it will. I think this is huge. When I first heard of Brand getting into this sort of thing, I thought that he, along with many other socially aware “famous” people, could potentially help spark a deep internal and thus external (r)evolution much needed. People look up to those who are famous. They listen to them. Perhaps this time it can be for something worth listening to rather than the next hairstyle to rock.
We need to take the power of our lives back. First, we need to recognize that we are being controlled.. conditioned. We need to take a deep look at ourselves and watch what we do, how we act, and how we think. We all know the grind of the work week and the weekends. Is there more to life than this? Notice how we all go to our ‘jobs’ where we work for a thing called a ‘corporation’ to receive another thing called ‘money’, that apparently has some value. You then exchange this ‘money’, or more simply put, paper, for food, shelter, and material wants/needs from more ‘corporations’. We participate in this delusion. You participate in this delusion. I participate in this delusion (but not for long). If you aren’t doing anything and are simply watching it all go by while you sit and stare and think, damn, how can I do something to help this world? And then tell yourself no, no, I can’t, not me, I can’t change the world. Then you are contributing to the problem. Don’t change the world, change yourself. Everyone has to act; you have to act. There is no one-thing in and of itself. It is all one. If you act we all act. So.. act!
And how do you act? That is the question that no one really knows how to answer. What is good talking about the problems in the world without a solution? Well... I have one.
Take back your power. You are being controlled by money, your job, etc. Provide your own energy, grow your own food, build your own shelter… with friends of course! Live 100% off the grid. If we collectively did this, the economy could collapse and instead of everyone entering something 100X worse than the depression, we would be safe in our sustainable homes, living off the land, working with nature (which in-turn is us), not against it. We can leave the "economy” and all of the other bullshit in the dust and never look back. Oh… and the economy will collapse. Let it. MIT predicts by 2030 it will. I think sooner. But don’t wait… act now or it will be too late.

5 Things To Start Noticing Throughout Your Day

A majority of the time we go about our days not really in our bodies but rather inside the cyclical nature of thought. When inside the internal "act", we are not "in our bodies" and are rather "in our heads." This leads to egoic structures being built all around us; from relationships all the way to economic systems. In order to drop the ego (even though there is nothing to necessarily drop), we must be mindful throughout our day. Be aware of what is happening, truly. Here are some things to start becoming aware of throughout your day which will lead to a more peaceful existence..

1. Driving
We all know the drill. Get in your car, put on the music, zone out, arrive at your destination. I challenge you to next time you get in the car, keep the music off and do some deep breathing throughout the ride. Inhale fully through the nose, exhale fully through the mouth. Let each breath fall in and out. Feel your body and the "external" objects you rest upon. Feel your foot on the gas and your other foot resting beside it. Feel your hands upon the steering wheel. Be mindful of what is... come back to your senses. Don't forget, internal thought is cyclical so you most likely will have thoughts throughout this. Do not suppress them for they go away on their own. Your mind is void. Be the watcher of thought and allow it all to flow into the void.

2. Washing Your Hands
We're all animals. There is no getting around this. We all use the restroom and then, preferably, wash our hands. Instead of rushing through this as if it is some annoying task, slow down and feel the warm water upon your hands. Gently rub and massage yourself, being mindful the entire time of your senses and the experience that is. Soon you will love washing your hands. It can and is incredibly relaxing.

3. Your Habits
Whether it is Facebook, Twitter, Video games, TV, Netflix, junk food, whatever, we all have habits. Now, I would not say humans at the core are habitual. If anything I would say our egos are and if we were to break free from that psychological prison we would be aware of the infinite potentiality each this moment contains. By becoming aware of ourselves, watching ourselves, and watching our internal dialogue, only then will we see our habits in full view. Breaking habits are hard, but if you don't even know what they are, how can you even break them? Start meditating daily for 10 minutes and increase overtime, this will help with identification of the said habits.  Next time you feel the urge to begin one of your usual habits, catch yourself in the act. Sit back, close your eyes, and breathe deeply. Notice how there is a pull towards it, just notice it... that is all it takes. Eventually, changing your habits will become as easy as 1, 2, 3. Let go of what no longer serves you.

4. Walking
Walking, it's how we get around, and a majority of the time we aren't even aware of the sensuous experience of it. Walking can be incredibly blissful, especially when it's 80 degrees out and you're walking barefoot on some warm grass. After you get up after reading this article, I challenge you to notice each step you take. Try to be aware of it all, your thoughts, breath, and how you so easily will yourself to walk. Part of the reason we don't notice ourselves walking is due to shoes. Shoes are a barrier between the ground and us, potentially creating a false-reality on not being in reality. It can be incredibly difficult being mindful of your walking all day long, but I challenge you to start today. The more you practice it, the more mindful you get, and the more peaceful your life becomes.

5. Your Biological and Extended Body
Your body is not some separate thing to this universe. You are a part of the whole and the whole is in the part. No one-thing in and of itself exists. Notice how you are in constant contact with your environment. You can't not be. Every time you sit down, become aware of the chair, sofa, whatever, that rests upon your body. If you get down to it, you can feel almost a levitating effect through this. Notice the space that you so easily walk through and that keeps everything as it should be, seemingly separate. To put this more simply for I cannot possibly go through each and every scenario: Be that!

Time Is Always Now

Think back to when you were a child. Pick your favorite, most vivid memory. Once chosen, visualize it. Notice how you are drawing back to this memory from this moment, right now. In this foggy visualization, you will discover that when this moment was happening, it was now. I am not saying that when you were six or seven you were however old you are now, but what I am saying is that your experience had in the past, was happening in the "now" moment. Now think ahead to your death bed. Here you are, with all of your achievements, loves, fears, and losses attained thus far, about to vanish into nothingness. When this experience happens, it will then be now. Remember this: All experience happens now. No experience can be had outside of the now. There is no other time, in fact, there is no such thing as time. Humans pop up into the "great stream" of existence and vanish some odd years later. The only reason we think things have a beginning and an ending is because of our own "beginning" and "ending". When in reality, the two are one. You can't begin unless you ended and you can't end unless you began. This goes for any forms of duality (good and bad being one of the most "predominant" ones).

Let's go farther back. Let's go to a time when you were non-existent, when this planet was non-existent, in fact, when this universe was non-existent. Let's go back to the big bang, the singularity that bursted towards what is now. The "time" when everything in existence was condensed into something smaller than the size of the head of a pin; when everything was truly one. There was no space, there was no time. Everything just was, or really I should say, is nothing. During this condensed energetic state, it was now.. and it is still now. Your existence, this existence, is a singularity, the singularity, all occurring right now. We are the condensed energy state of oneness being expressed through biology. We are the whole being reflected in the part, and the part being reflecting in the whole. You can see this connectedness in everyday life. It does not take any visualization to achieve this. By simply seeing everything right now as it is is enough. Don't try to be anything for you will only be trying to be a mental image, something that which you are not. Simply, be who you are. Don't forget, no one-thing in and of itself exists. All is relative, all relates. If you define and label an object, you are creating a false separation within the mind. Sure, this is useful, but if everything is taken as separate, individual objects completely unrelated to each other, it can make us feel separate and alien to the world. We are divided through the intellect. The intellect is a great tool that has been taken for granted. Remember, the intellect is a part of experience, not all of experience.

So let's review. Back before the big bang it was now. Millions of years after the occurrence of the big bang, it was still now. And now it is obviously still now, forever present for infinity. Time is not real besides in our minds. Our minds are a storage device for all of our existence, all being expressed right now. Right now, it is before the big bang, everything condensed into a singularity. Right now, it is right now. Right now, it is tomorrow. There are no separate events (besides for the labeling of our intellect). There is only one event, right now!

Everything is compressed into this moment. Our biological devices allow us to maneuver through it, glimpsing the whole from different perspectives, both on the micro, macro, and all different levels that are available through technology, the intellect, and imagination. Experience is one forever changing, spontaneous "image". Everything consists in this moment. Your birth and your death, the beginning and the end, the Alpha and the Omega. You are "god", I am "god". All is one. It all goes together... now.

We Are Working With An 'Intelligent' Universe and You Are All of It.

One of the wackiest theories I have come across lately is Biocentrism. Biocentrism pitches the idea that life/consciousness gives life to the universe and not the other way around. It explains that in order for this universe to even be here and be seen as you are seeing it now; a conscious observer needs to be present. As I do agree with this (as you will see below why), I also agree with the standard held idea that the universe gives rise to life. To me, these two ideas are not in contrast with one another, but in fact they balance each other out. The universe and you are inseparable and are constantly creating each other (even though there is no "each" or "other" for it is all one process).

But how do I create the universe, you might ask? I mean, I just "popped up" here some odd years ago and will vanish in a few more. How can I be so essential? Well, first off, let me explain what matter (the stuff you, your bed, and the sun are all made of) is itself comprised of. You and everything else in this universe are comprised of trillions of tiny little things called particles… or perhaps a better term is wavicles. Wavicles is the preferred term here because a particle is not simply just a particle but rather a particle (solid) and a wave (non-solid, non-existent, probabilistic) at the same time; it is only our relative perception and observation which changes that state. According to Biocentrism and as you will see below, the double slit experiment, an “observer” needs be present in order to collapse a wavicle (what the universe is comprised of) from its wave form (a probabilistic, non-existent and yet, I’ll coin the phrase, “every-existent” state) to its particle, singular solid form (the world/universe as you see it). If true, you are as fundamental to the universe “being here” as gravity… if not more. This is a little different from our current view and, if proven (or should I say accepted), flip the laws of physics on its ass. So then! Let's take a dive into the crazy world of quantum mechanics and see why this crazy theory is even a theory.

For those who don't know already. Quantum Theory deals with the probabilistic nature of quantum particles (the "building blocks" of matter) and the likely place(s) they may appear. The double slit experiment has been repeated for decades now with the same results each time, but never with a solid conclusion. You will see in a second why... Let me lay this, if understood, life-changing experiment out for you.

It all started in the twentieth century when physicists were struggling with whether or not light was made out of tons of little particles/photons or waves of energy. To find this out, they needed a source of light, and in this double-slit experiment, electrons Let's go over the tools used and the results expected in this experiment.

Tools used:

-A device to shoot some good ol’ particles (electrons/photons)
-A barrier with two “slits” in it, hence the “double slit”
-A hit-detector at the end that marks where each particle hits

-Eventually we will use a Quarter Wave Pallets or QWP which will be place in front of the two slits

Results:

Either one or the other will appear, never both.

-Two “bands” of particles that are shaped like the double slits in the barrier.

or

-An interference pattern or what we would expect a wave to produce

Let's start off by firing some photons through the barrier with two-slits in it heading towards the hit-detector that measures or observes the results (with no QWP in place). Each bit of light has a 50-50 chance of going through one of the slits due to the laws of probability. However, this is not what we see. What we see is an interference pattern (wave) emerging on the hit-detector. An interference pattern is what would happen if we dropped a bunch of pebbles in still water and watched all of the waves collide and join with each other. So far, the results are that photons have a wave-like nature. Eventually electrons were used and this too carried the same results. Naturally, physicists thought the particles must be going through the slits and colliding with each other, creating this interference pattern. That was until they shot each particle one at a time, making sure they could not collide with each other. When this was done, the same interference/wave pattern emerged! But how could this be? This has never truly been "answered" but the closest theory is that the particle (or should I say wavicle) shot is not really a solid particle but rather a probability (a wave/not solid/a real entity) until they are detected (the detection /measurement/observation of the wavicles collapses those said wavicles into solid particles). So they go through both slits (hence they are in a probabilistic, “everything goes” state) and interact with each other creating the interference pattern! This means that particles, even something as large as a Bucky Ball, do not even exist as solid matter until they are observed/detected/measured.

Suppose we want to find out which slit each photon or electron goes through. All we have to do is set up some Quarter Wave Pallets or QWP's in front of each slit. The QWP tells us the polarity of the incoming photon, giving us the ability to see which slit each goes through on the way to the detector. This means we will be measuring or observing the photon before it hits the hit-detector, which in the previous experiment was the original detector/measurement device/observation tool. Here we see our results radically change. Instead of the interference/wave pattern we just received in the previous experiment, we are now seeing the hit-detector light up as we would expect solid particles to (two “bands” of particles shaped like the slits)! The wave-function (probabilistic state) must have collapsed once detected by the QWP's, creating a normal, solid particle response on the hit-detector.

So! What does this tell us?

The mere act of measurement or observation collapses the wave/probabilistic state into a real solid particle entity! The question now is this: How/why did the wavicle collapse from a wave into a particle when it was being observed? How did it know it was going to measured before the hit-detector? Take note the QWP's do not alter photons in anyway besides changing its polarity. Not to mention many other devices besides QWP’s have been used with the same results. The conclusion is this: It is simply not possible to gain the which-way information (which slit the wavicle goes through) and the interference pattern caused by waves. Once a wavicle is detected/observed/measured, the wavicles “collapse” from their probabilistic/wave state to their solid/particle state. And the weird thing is (as if this wasn't weird enough), wavicles are constantly in both wave and particle states. Observing them only makes the difference… to us.

Attempts after attempts to get around this mind-bending experiment have been tried by the most brilliant minds of our century, but there is no way getting around this one. The very measurement or observation of which path the electron/photon went through collapses the particle, alone. This means that matter talks to itself, in a sense. The particle knows when it is being observed. To me, we are working with an "intelligent" universe. However, this is not widely accepted (yet) by the scientific community so I guess for now it is only some weird crazy experiment that makes no sense.

But I am not the scientific community. I am an individual observing these experiments and using my own knowledge to get to my own conclusion. What is my conclusion? The universe reacts to itself on the fundamental level of simple "outer" observation which creates "inner" experience. You are the "inner" experience that the "outer" (the universe and all it contains which includes "you") has. The "outer" reacts on the "inner" and the "inner" expresses/creates the "outer". Simply noticing this by watching it all and not falling into the trap of acting as that fragment of the whole (Joe Whats-His-Face and all of his troubles and worries),  to me, is enough to bring about a huge revolution in consciousness that is so deeply needed. There is no one else to blame. There is no guide. It is all you and you are all it. Your experience of the universe is the universe.

"...If you observe very closely what is taking place and examine it, you will see that it is based on an intellectual conception, and the intellect is not the whole field of existence, it is a fragment, and a fragment, however cleverly put together, however ancient and traditional, is still a small part of existence whereas we have to deal the totality of life. And when we look at what is taking place in the world we begin to understand that there is no outer and inner process; there is only one unitary process, it is a whole, total movement, the inner movement expressing itself as the outer and the outer reacting again on the inner. To be able to look at this seems to me all that is needed, because if we know how to look, then the whole things becomes very clear, and to look needs no philosophy, no teacher. Nobody need tell you how to look. You just look..."

Embrace the Pain

Whenever you are having a "negative" experience, whether it is some form of anxiety, depression, or anything you don't really want happening, recognize that you are indeed having the said experience. Once done, let go and completely embrace it. Embrace the anxiety, embrace the pain, embrace the sorrow. Love it all. Nothing can touch you besides yourself. Any sensuous and/or intellectual experience that you are having at any given moment, always embrace it, always accept what is. Let it take over you. Let it pass through you. It will not harm you. Trust and let go. This can be applied to any "bad" situation labeled by the intellect (which is a part of life, not all of life).

Anxiety stems from hiding from your "true" self which is what is in plain sight (you are not what you think you are). You do this by rejecting the moment as it is and hiding away in fear and participating in abstractions that are not even real. Just be here now. And what is right now? Well... look around.  Seriously. Stop everything for a second and do this. What do you see? Don't go searching now for something or someone to teach you how to do this. Nothing I have said or anyone else has said or any precious book has said will teach you how to look, will give you any "dead" truth that is bam, there, you got it, no further! It keeps going. The "dead" truth you seek externally keeps going internally and in-turn externally, right now, and you are it. Don't go searching within the "global social abstraction" or the "collective mind" we have all created. No one can tell you how to look. Not me,  the bible, no one.. just look.

When you get down to it, you will notice, from your own perspective, that this moment consists everything. Every person, every tree, every bug, every river, every galaxy, everything. Nothing moves from this moment. It may change forms (as it does constantly) and paint a different picture, but it all happens right now. Embrace whatever the picture is at any given time, even when you don't like it... embrace the pain.

The Coming Revolution in Consciousness

Die before you die. Let go of all that makes up the "you" that you think you are. All his/her worries and stories, gone. "You" are a figment of your own imagination. A self-spinning mental image that is based entirely upon preconceptions; you are literally living in your head. Whether it be personal stories self-written, political and/or philosophical ideologies, etc., none are truly "there" besides in your head. You create "yourself" internally through the intellect, making yourself feel separate in a world that contains no one-thing in and of itself. The "you" that you create, the individual if you will, is only a small fragment in the wide field of existence. In reality, what you truly are is experience and everything contained within that potentially infinite span of experience, right now.

We have been searching our entire lives for that one thing in the outside world that will bring us closer to "it". Whatever "it" is... We search through various religions, supposed spiritual truths, money, material things, food, and much much more. Through ages of this, no truth has been left to be found. That is because there is no "dead" truth found in the "outer" world. There is no light at the end of tunnel, the tunnel just keeps going and spontaneously forming different things, which is your experience. Truth is alive, and you are it. Your pain, your anxiety, your happiness, your joy; this very moment you are having right now.

"The question of whether or not there is a God or truth or reality, or whatever you like to call it, can never be answered by books, by priests, philosophers or saviors. Nobody and nothing can answer the question but you yourself and that is why you must know yourself. Immaturity lies only in total ignorance of self. To understand yourself is the beginning of wisdom. And what is yourself, the individual you? I think there is a difference between the human being and the individual. The individual is a local entity, living in a particular country, belonging to a particular culture, particular society, particular religion. The human being is not a local entity. He is everywhere. If the individual merely acts in the particular corner of the vast field of life, then his action is totally unrelated to the whole. So one has to bear in mind that we are talking of the whole not the part, because in greater the less is, but in the lesser the greater is not. The individual is the little conditioned, miserable, frustrated entity, satisfied with his little gods and his little traditions, whereas a human being is concerned with total welfare, the total misery, and the total confusion of the world."

Jiddu Krishnamurti, Freedom From the Known

You are the outer being expressed through the inner, and the inner reacting to the outer (even though there is no "outer" or "inner" for it is all one process). Notice this. Watch yourself. Watch how you react. Notice how you seek. See how you blame. This un-watched fragmented you creates the world we have today. The world filled with misery, hunger, endless wars, and the likes. We are all responsible for the sorrow and pain in the world. But this is not an issue, this is a solution. This means that we can change it. Embrace your true nature: everything, the whole of your experience, the totality of it all. Be unafraid. Be. That. Now. This is the coming revolution. This is the revolution of the psyche. This is the revolution of consciousness. It is all up to you.

Short Insight On Life

Simply... be who you are at this moment! If you are cold, be cold. Hot? Be hot. Sad? Be sad. Thinking, anxious, mad, whatever! Just be that. Listen to it all, feel it all. Be IT all. Acceptance is key at this point. You cannot "be it all" without acceptance of what is. Once you accept what is, which is to say what is true or what is actually being experienced, an inner peace will take over your entire being. If this is not done you will stay trapped within your thoughts and deny the moment, hiding away in fear.

Remember, you change with the moment. You move (and yet stay) with your environment, you shape and create each other (even though there is no "each" or "other" for it is all one process). You are not something separate to experience, you are experience itself. The moment is spontaneous and so are you. The best way to put this is to use as little and as simplistic words as possible for the moment is undefinable...

Be that!

How To Feel IT.

In my article about the The felt presence of one-ness (which I highly recommend reading first), I went over how everything is One and that "things" such as "I", "you", and "that" are all but glimpses of a unified process. And that "you", sitting here, peering out of this biological form, flowing over this very sentence is the entire Universe doing so. Not to mention that stranger that just drove by your house and that bird perched upon the tree. We are not just part of this beautiful cosmic dance, witnessing it for some odd years; we are the cosmic dance.

You may be thinking, how could I never have noticed this? How could I have lived my entire life without this feeling and knowledge? Well, that would be because you are thinking. Every time you are "in your head" you are not "in your body", and thus not in the present moment where everything takes place. There is no other moment than now. That past event you are so concerned about happened in the now and is just a distant image being referred to right now. When you think about your future, you are thinking about it now, and when that future event comes, it will then be now. All there is is the now.

So! How do you reach the present moment? Well, there is no reaching involved for you are already in IT, but in order to get "out" of your head, you need to get "in" with your body. Feel your entire body. Scan it. Feel the sensations it gives you. Feel your breath that is going on all the time and that you consciously zone in and out of. Feel the chair you are sitting upon. Feel the ground beneath your feet. Hear the sounds that merge out of nothing and disappear to it once again. See the "things" around you and the space that holds it all together. Become aware of the organic rotating rock floating in the void you are currently upon. Feel gravity and levity holding you in place. Notice the planet and trillions of other galaxies dancing with you. Be aware of your thoughts. Notice how they move so spontaneously like the moment and then "disappear" once again into nothingness.

If you try to stay present, you won't be, for instead you will be merely trying to do so. Instead, drop everything you know from the past and forget about the future. Be here now. This is so effortless that any effort will take you away from it. Diving into the now is so easy it isn't. The now is forever spontaneous, forever here, and forever from our grasp. To base IT on previous "events" stored within your mind would be foolish.

Sure, you could practice mindful meditation and yoga daily, but if that sole purpose is to reach some form of enlightenment, you are setting yourself a trap. All you really need to do is, simply, be in your body. It is that simple. Be aware of what your entire self is doing and the "things" IT "interacts" with constantly. Stop reading this if you'd like. Get off the computer, stay on, go for a run, hitchhike, travel, whatever! Follow the love that lives within the moment. "Face the facts", if you will. You already know what to do. Live in, as Alan Watt's would put it, The Great Stream.

through which
the universe
is looking at and
exploring itself. ”

The Next Step In Conscious Evolution – The Felt Presence of "One-ness".

I am sure you have heard the New Agey idea “we are all one”. At first glance, you may find it to be pretentious, not based on fact, and pseudo-scientific. Well, I am here to change that. I am here to explain this “one-ness” as a very simple fact; a fact that will be hugely important to recognize and feel in these next few years.

Let’s do a little thought experiment, shall we?

Imagine a circle and nothing else. Okay, when you imagined that circle, you imagined a background around that circle, correct? Now get rid of that background because space too is something. So right now, you should only have a circle. Pretty hard to imagine. In fact, it’s impossible. In order for a circle you need space around that circle otherwise that circle would be everything and thus no edge to the circle, thus no circle. Now add another circle. How? Add the space in-between. Now you have two circles and the space around it all.

In order for something to exist, you need a background. This is a very observable fact. “In the Gesalt theory of perception this is known as the figure/ground relationship. This theory asserts, in brief, that no figure is ever perceived except in relation to a background...” – Alan Watts

Look around your room. Pick a table, a lamp, anything. There’s a background to it, yes? Now lift up your hand. Put it in front of your face. Background, yes? Move it. Background again, yes? Move it again. Background once again, yes?

“The thing-in-itself, whether animal, vegetable, mineral, is not only unknowable – it does not exist. This is important not only for sanity and peace of mind, but also for the most ‘practical’ reasons of economics, politics, and technology. This is not to say that things only exist only in relation to one another, but that what we call “things” are no more than glimpses of a unified process. Certainly this process has distinct features which catch our attention, but we must remember that distinction is not separation. In the Gesalt theory of perception this is known as the figure/ground relationship. This theory asserts, in brief, that no figure is ever perceived except in relation to a background. If, for example, you come so close to me that the outline of my body lies beyond your field of vision, the ‘thing’ you see will no longer be my body. Your attention will instead be ‘captured’ by a coat-button or a necktie, for the theory also asserts that, against any given background, our attention is almost automatically “won” by any moving shape (in contrast with the stationary background).” – Alan Watts

This realization and actual felt presence of “oneness” is, to me, our next GIANT step in evolution.  It is part of our consciousness’ evolutionary process that will lead us hopefully out of this mess we have gotten ourselves into. We believe ourselves to be separate to this world. We feel as if we have popped up in the middle of history, given a bag of skin to wear, and are dealing with an alien world that will continue to exist once "we" vanish into nothingness. We don’t trust our instincts, we second guess ourselves, get anxiety, and hurt our environment which in-turn hurts ourselves.

“What we need is a sense of unity. Not an idea of unity. Not an ideology of unity… a feeling of unity. So it doesn't come out of intellectual exhortation. It comes out of a personal act of courage…an act of courage which involves surrender…” – Terrence McKenna

The time to recognize and more importantly feel this is now. We don’t have much time. When someone says “we are all one”, it isn't some crazy inter-dimensional, magical thing, it’s just a fact. Observe the mind. Recognize you are pure awareness, not the mind. Follow your instincts. Work with nature, not against it. Give, give, and give for you will only be helping yourself. Everything you experience is you. You are all IT. But there is no "you", IT is IT. :)
